Log rolling for EIMS, CounterAgent, Auto Reply, STF and ASSP
Summary
Dice for Eudora Internet Mailserver, EIMS, provides a log rolling and archive capability for EIMS 3.x and associated plugin filters, such as CounterAgent 2, MCF's Auto Reply and MCF's Simple Text Filter.
Once a day, Dice for EIMS extracts the previous day's log information from the Eudora Internet Mail Server logs and converts all line endings to OSX/Unix newlines, as required.
It then places these extracted logs into a daily, time stamped log folder. Thus, all your mail logs are archived in one place.
Additionally, Dice for EIMS copies rolled logs from CounterAgent, Auto Reply, STF and ASSP to the daily log folder as well. Then, the folder is compressed for archive.
To make your daily logs easily available to you remotely, the compressed logs are also copied to your webserver's root to be accessed as http://your_eims_machine.your_domain.com/EIMSLogs.tgz.
To make it easier to manage your logs and disk space, Dice for EIMS automatically deletes all archived logs older than 1 week. These includes the compressed time stamped archives created by Dice for EIMS as well as CounterAgent, Auto Reply, STF and ASSP logs that are over a week old.
