I recently visited the Animal Kingdom theme park during Cast Member Previews and spotted a hidden Mickey on the Tree of Life. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera, but on the tree, you can notice a bunch of mossy areas. I believe it was near a carving of a buffalo, but three patches of moss formed the tell-tale head.

When you come out of Oasis Gardens and have your first glimpse of the magnificent Tree of Life there is a small hidden Mickey on the tree itself. It is not carved into the trunk like the other 300+ animals, but is fashioned out of three clumps of moss. One for the face, and two for the ears. It is near the bottom third of the tree and is skewed on a slight 20 degree angle to the right.

There is a circular small park as you come out of the Oasis. Walk into the circular area and look straight ahead at the Tree of Life and you'll see a Hidden Mickey. I believe it's up and to the left of the buffalo head. It is not carved into the tree, but rather, it's growing on the trunk. It looks like moss or some sort of green plant. Please, if anyone else sees this, please confirm.

I just wanted to confirm that while training to work at the attraction, "its Tough To Be A Bug" they showed us the three hidden Mickeys on the moss patches on the outside of the tree, however they are not Mickeys that are officially recognized by WDWI (those are the people who make all the rules, otherwise known as Imagineers). The only one that is officially reognized is the small Mickey shaped head on the wall near the ceiling in the wheelchair waiting area in the lobby.

I was speaking to a cast member at the base of the tree of life about the carvings on the tree. I was corrected by her - they are not carvings but the representations of animals that have emerged from the tree. She said I should keep my eyes open. I was informed that Mickey Mouse is a new animal to the Animal Kingdom, he is still young, but he is also emerging from the tree. Sure enough, when you are facing the tree from the front of the park, move toward the right, and near the base is that familiar 3 circle mickey - but he is covered in "moss" as he is still emerging.
    REPORTED: Amy 22 AUG 01
As you're coming into the park walking towards the Tree of Life, look in the Tree for a knot or a snail shell or something (its something round) just above and to the right of the center of the Tree. Directly below that is a perfect hidden Mickey in dark green moss. It's really easy to miss but plain as day when you see it.

My girlfriend and I were on a mission to find the hidden Mickey on the huge Tree of Life in the center of the Animal Kigdom. With strained eyes and alot of tips from the cast members we found it. On the tree itself there are hundreds of animal carvings. Find the Hippo. Right above the eyes of the hippo, there appears to be some sort of shadow. Its no shadow at all, Its Mickey's Head. But its upside down. This was hard to find but once you see it, you'll know its definetly Mickey!

While taking a stroll down the back part of Disney's Animal Kingdom, I noticed an upside down head of Mickey Mouse on one of the carvings of the Tree of Life. The hidden Mickey is on the eye of the hippo located on the other side of the tree from the entrance. I also took a boat ride circling the tree. There, our guide also mentioned the hidden Mickey. If you get a chance, visit the park in Orlando, FL and maybe you can find a hidden Mickey elsewhere.

On the fixture to the right of the big deer looking fixture (if your back is facing the registers) there's a smaller yellow fixture with green beetle looking bugs with black dots on it. Presently, there are Beanies on it. On one of the beetles facing the deer fixture is a well defined tri-circled Mickey head formed from the black dots. If you look at the other beetle looking fixtures in the shop you can see some very close looking hidden mickeys. Some even look like goofy and pluto heads.
