The following is a listing of what is planned, currently under construction or newly opened at Walt Disney World. This information has been compiled from a number of sources. If I left something out that one of you folks out there might know about, then please share it with the rest of us.
Due to the attacks on the United States and the concern for guest safety, Disney security is inspecting all bags before you are allowed to enter the park.
The Living Seas tram section of the attraction was closed down with the omni mover system removed during our recent visit on New Years 2002. When we asked an employee he said that they were just working on updating the attraction. Anyone hear about this?

The Ride, "Journey into Imagination" is up and running as of 6/2/2002.

While at Epcot, I sadly discovered that Journey into Imagination was being changed once again. A banner above the ride read "Something new is coming-September 2002". Below it was the ride's name, with a carrot and the word "your" squeezed in, which read "Journey into your Imagination". I'm quite anxious to learn more about the changes coming to the ride.

I was talking to a cast member, and he told me the reason they are updating Journey into Your Imagination is the number of complaints about Figment being removed. They are adding him back into the attraction.

I don't know how accurate this is but a cast member at one of the pavilians told me that it's going to be a space simulater ride which kind of goes along with some of the rumors that came out about a year ago. He said that it's supose to simulate luanching off in a rocket and going to the moon but not as corny as the old mission to mars ride. This one is suppose to be set up along the lines as that nasa simulator you see in movies where there's an arm in the center and it spins around with a cabin on the end of it, he said there's going to be four cars on the arm and there is supose to be four of these arms set up. All of it will be inside the Horizons building. They have already set up a construction wall outside the building and it's scheduled to open on april 17th. I'm sure it won't go as fast as the one at nasa but it does sound pretty intresting. This looks like another attempt to pull in the older thrill seaker crowd and give the adults one more "fun" ride to go on much like test track. Sorry but this is all I really know.

Horizons closed and it will be replaced by Mission: Space. Mission is planned to open 2001 (appropriate) It is unknown what the ride will be. They are leaning towards a gyroscope attraction though. Horizons building is most likely going to leveled to build it, since the building would take several million to update the roof and other areas.

CONFIRMED: paula friedman 15 DEC 98
NEWS: Horizons at Epcot closed on January 9, 1999, presumably to make way for the oft-mentioned space pavilion to be sponsored by Intel.
For the next few months, WDI will be trying to work together new concepts for Mission Space, the Horizons replacement... finance scrapped their earlier designs.

2002 is the year of Journey into Space presented by Intel or NASA.

Along with announcing the rehab of The Great Movie Ride, Al Weiss also confirmed that Horizons is to be rehabbed by the end of next year. No further information was given on the Horizons rehab. Rumors surrounding this attraction range from a Space Shuttle launch simulator through to a new space themed attraction
UPDATE: Adrian J. Ofman 06 JAN 00
Horizon will be sponsored by Compaq and Micorsoft but I'm not sure the theme of the attraction, then if NASA is the sponsor the name is Journey into Space or something very similar.
UPDATE: Adrian J. Ofman 22 APR 00 Compaq has signed on to sponsor the new Mission: SPACE pavillion at EPCOT, which is replacing the Horizons attraction.
UPDATE: Ken Coole 28 APR 00
Horizons was completely demolished to be replaced by Mission : Space. The pavillion will be like Wonders of Life, what I mean is that it won't be a single ride but a place with many things to do. It'll open in 2003.
UPDATE: Adrian Ofman 16 DEC 00
Mission: SPACE is being constructed, though we can't expect we will get the ride before the year 2003!

World Showcase
There's a new character bus that appears in the World Showcase at Epcot. Using the old showcase buses, the show runs to the tune of "Dancin, A Catchy Rhythm", which was the theme song for the Wonderful World of Disney parade at Disneyland Paris last summer.
