Note: There are seven known Hidden Mickeys inside The Great Movie Ride (plus there are two disputed ones)
REPORTED: Michelle Kramer 07 JAN 97

  1. Facing the oval garden in front of the Chinese Theater, there is a large boulder on the left side of the garden. On the upper left side, two dark spots form the ears, one of these may have been a shadow that is only visible at night, and the face is formed by indentations in the rock. My father found this one and it was confirmed by several people in the group.
REPORTED: Henry Sampson 01 DEC 96
  2. In front of the Chinese Theater, where the stars have signed the names and left their impressions, over on the left hand side you'll find Harry pict from hiddenmickeys.org Anderson's Square. There's an outline of a tie, and on the tie is a traditional tri-circle Hidden Mickey.

  3. In front of the Chinese Theater, where the stars have signed the names and left their impressions, over on the right hand side you'll find Carol Burrnet's square along with a tri-circle Mickey.
REPORTED: Tom & Renée Shaw 27 DEC 96 pict from hiddenmickeys.org
  4. We were watching the fireworks over the Chinese Theater from the entrance of the Brown Derby and I noticed a Mickey. Near the top of the center section of the theater there are various drawings in rectangular sections. The upper left drawing depicts a horse and carriage of some sort. From a distance the carriage looked a lot like a tri-circle Hidden Mickey. The drawing on the upper right side looked nothing like a Mickey.
REPORTED: Lisa Evans 29 AUG 95
CONFIRMED: Julie Pomeroy 13 SEP 96
The resemblance isn't that good, and anyway the chariot artwork was on the original Chinese Theater in 1927 (see picture) and Mickey wasn't even born until 1928!
WISHFUL THINKING: Joy Hogley 26 MAY 98
  5. When you enter the building, there is a chandelier in the first room. Next to it there is a speaker concealed in the wallpaper. Next to the speakers are round flowers. The flowers and the speakers form a Hidden Mickey.
REPORTED: Carlos Boughton 08 APR 96
  6. While my 10-year-old son and I were waiting in line for, he noticed that the birds on the mural form Mickeys! Their wings form the ears and their bodies form the heads. They may not be perfect circles, but we think it's pretty close.
REPORTED: Wayne Stoler 12 APR 96
  7. There is a Hidden Mickey in the shrubbery of the mural on the loading dock. It is best seen from the 'B' vehicle or the second tram.
    REPORTED: anon 02 OCT 97
  8. As you enter the cars in the great movie ride look up too your left. There is a drawing of some clouds. One of the clouds is in a Mickey shape. If the plants are fake then it is rigt at the end of the longest branch of the plant hanging in fron of it. If the plants are real then it probably has grown some since then
REPORTED: Steven Bissell 08 FEB 99 pict from hiddenmickeys.org
  9. There is a hidden Minnie. It is where you load onto the vehicles in the middle of the picture is the biggest house, off to the right hand side is a brown tree stump. Right above the stump is a large black shadow that is the side view of Minnie all in black.
    REPORTED: WDW List
My son and I found a Hidden Minnie in the loading area. In the center of the mural is a cottage roof. Assume the roof's peak is in the 6 o'clock position; look between 1 and 2 o'clock, about three feet from the peak. You will see a shadow shaped like Minnie.

When you actually enter into the cars, get into the second car, sitting near to the front. The Hidden Mickey is actually part of the huge painting of Hollywood Hill and is somewhere near one of the roofs of the big houses. This Hidden Mickey was actually pointed out by on of the staff and confirmed by two others.
CONFIRMED: Andrew Hudson 25 OCT 96
In the loading area, on the mural to the left of the first seat in the second set of cars there is a Hidden profile of Minnie Mouse. This is I believe the same Hidden Minnie already reported. A Cast Member named Marci was kind enough to point this out to us.
CONFIRMED: The Spencer Family 24 JUL 97
There is a mouse in the Hollywoodland mural in the loading dock area. It is in a tree by where the driver sits in the second or "B" vehicle. As long as I've been there they've called her Minnie though, and not Mickey. You need a flashlight to see her well, so ask an older cast member who knows what they're talking about.

  10. A cast member showed us a hidden Mickey and hidden Minnie (the first one we had seen of Minnie!) on the Great Movie Ride. At the end of the ride you look to the Hollywood Mural on left (and our cast member showed us with a flashlight), you will see a shadow of a Mickey and a Minnie! You need to see it with a flashlight and he showed us while everyone was giving a big round of applause for the tour guides! If you sit in the first seat next to the cast member ask him/her to show you, they all have flashlghts with them!
REPORTED: Renee Ryzinski 11 JUL 99

  13. After beginning the ride in the cars, look below the first scene with the bubbles and ladies. Almost dead center the cutouts form a Hidden Mickey. When we rode this ride, I pointed it out to the Cast Member and he instantly realized it was there, yet he had never seen it before.
REPORTED: Linda Glenn 05 FEB 97
  14. The first room you come into has bubbles falling from the ceiling. Some of these bubbles are in the shape of a hidden Mickey. I have seen it happen far too many times for it to be a coincidence, and am almost positive that the bubble blowers on the ceiling are deliberately shaped that way.
REPORTED: Derrick Rottler 11 MAR 97
It has been reported that the bubbles falling from the ceiling in the beginning scene come together to form Hidden Mickeys and are deliberately shaped that way. This is definitely wishful thinking. The bubbles are just bubbles. Sometimes they come out joined, sometimes they don't.

  16. In Musical Street, in the backdrop in Mary Poppins on the left side.
    REPORTED: anon 02 OCT 97
  17. While riding the much loved ride of "The Great Movie Ride" I noticed something new when entering the Mary Poppins room. If you look all the way down on the right wall of the room there is a potted plant near a middle window. As you enter the room you can destinctly see a nose and ears and happy profile of our beloved Mickey. Of course, once you pass the plant, you can no longer see it. Its shape was way to coincidental to be my imagination on this ride because it is full of them.
    REPORTED: Sarah 29 MAR 02
  18. At the end of Musical Street look up to the rooftop on the left. One of the chimney silhouettes is a Fantasia Mickey turned to the side.
    REPORTED: Lynn 16 OCT 95
It has been reported that at the end of Musical street that up on the rooftop to the left one of the chimney silouettes is a Fantasia Mickey turned on its side. We looked for this several times and saw nothing that looked like any kind of Mickey.
WISHFUL THINKING: The Spencer Family 24 JUL 97
  19. As the vehicles enter Gangsterland, Mickey's feet can be seen peeking out from under the "Public Enemy" poster on the left-hand wall. Mickey's feet (yellow shoes) and tail is just under the James Cagney Public Enemy Poster. It was made to look as if a Mickey Mouse poster was there first, and the James Cagney poster was placed over it. It also appears to be a circa Mickey from that time frame.

  20. Look behind you when your tram is about to be hijacked by the gangster; you'll find a shadow of Mickey lurking at the right end of the line of windows towards the top of the warehouse building on your left. Its way up at the top. It's in the last window pane to your right. You have to look back over your left shoulder while you're in the gangster area.

  21. When you enter the Gangster Room look to your right. On the side of the first building, there's a cluster of blue lights, three of them form a Hidden Mickey. You may only notice it if you are in one of the last cars because you are stopped right next to the building during the "takeover" by the gangster.
REPORTED: Mark Bukowski 25 MAR 99
  22. As you are coming into the western scene look up into the overhanging branches above you, there is a noose dangling from one.
    REPORTED: Gigi 05 AUG 97
  23. In the western scene, if you look back to the left, there is a bush or maybe its a cactus i don't remember. The point is, the bush is trimmed to look like a Mickey head.
REPORTED: Beth Mc Millen 20 AUG 98
  24. In the Western scene, Mickey's face is formed out of horse hoove imprints in the floor. It's hard to see, but it's next to where we come down the steps to hijack the trams.

  27. Four familiar figures can be seen in the hieroglyphics wall opposite Indiana Jones.
    REPORTED: WDW List
You can find Mickey in the hieroglyphics of the Raiders of the Lost Ark scene (last block on the left) having lunch with Donald Duck. Interestingly, also in the hieroglyphics, directly across from Indiana Jones, you can find C-3PO and R2-D2 carved in stone. There is also a very small hieroglyphic painted with Mickey Mouse ears, but it is not visible from the ride. Kelly showed me the Mickey (and Donald) in the hieroglyphics, but I'd recommend taking a flashlight with you. It's really dark in that corner and you must depend on the lightning flashing at just the right time. Of course, you might get thrown out for using the flashlight, but... The hieroglyphics were present on the original movie set. There is a picture of the woman painting it in the book Walt Disney World, 20 Magical Years on page 20. Mickey sits as a Egyptian Pharaoh while Donald serves him a hunk of cheese.

  28. The tiny silhouette of Mickey on a hieroglyphic (not the elaborate carved one with Donald) is visible from the vehicle. It's a piece of tile lying directly below the stone box the Ark of the Convenant is being pulled out of. It may take a couple times to catch it, but it's there.

  29. As you are leaving the Egyptian Pharoh room, look at the last pillar (there's a sarcophagus leaning against the wall next to it). In the pillar, about car high you can see someone has pressed an image of Mickey into the concrete coating of the pilar. It's best seen by sitting on the extreme left side of the car and looking back at the pillar as you leave the room.

  30. In the section with Indiana Jones, Mickey is one of the pictures on the wall. On the first picture at the entrance to the ride is a silhoutte of Mickey's face at a side view.

  31. In the scene with Tarzan look up to the right by the treehouse and you will see a basket with grapes that form the three circles
REPORTED: Jeff Oestreich 03 APR 97
The grapes would not stack naturally so that the ears would stay above the head without intentional glue.
CONFIRMED: Paul MacGregor 02 MAY 97
    CONFIRMED: Gigi 05 AUG 97
In Tarzan, the three grapes do form a Mickey, but it was accidental.
    CONFIRMED: anon 02 OCT 97
I'm not 100% convinced, and all 3 grapes are the same size - but I could only see 3 grapes clearly, which makes me think it could possibly be intentional.
CONFIRMED: Joy Hogley 26 MAY 98
As a Tour guide on the Great Movie Ride there are no hidden Mickeys in Tarzan. Many cast members think that the grapes make out the shape of a Mickey, but that's because the rumor has circulated for so long.
WISHFUL THINKING: Ryan 11 JUN 98
In the middle of the bunch there are two smaller grapes and one biger one.

  34. During the Wizard of Oz, there is a Mickey in the flowers that you see from the second cart. Once you've seen it, you can spot it just going by. This was pointed out to me by a Disney Cast Member.
REPORTED: Heather Clark 30 NOV 95
There is definitely a Hidden Mickey on one of the flowers. It's the last group of tall flowers on the left side as you leave Oz. I think it was on a purple or lavender colored flower. This was pointed out by the guide when we were stuck there during some technical difficulties.
CONFIRMED: Andrew Keegan 27 JAN 96

When you first enter the Wizard of Oz part, right above the entryway into the Sorcerer's Apprentice part is a Hidden Mickey. His profile can clearly be seen when you fist enter. He is in the middle bunch of trees painted on the wall.
CONFIRMED: Becky Palkowetz 01 FEB 97
As you enter the Wizard of Oz area, look immediately to your left. There are 3 large sunflowers. Two smaller ones on top of one large one. The 3 overlapping sunflowers make a hidden Mickey.
CONFIRMED: John Lewis 05 JUN 97
Oz was the most argued by guests and cast members alike. Talking to Imagineers, I was told there are no Hidden Mickeys in the flowers, or at least they aren't meant to be there. They are formed by placement only. The only Hidden Mickey in Oz that was deliberate is the Hidden Mickey in the trees on the mural before you exit into the finale. It is hard to see, but it is definitely a sillouhette.
    CONFIRMED: anon 02 OCT 97
There is a hidden Mickey at the scene of The Wizard of OZ display. When you enter the room there are three (3) blue flowers. There are two (2) little blue flowers at the top and one big blue flower in the middle. They form a hidden Mickey.
    CONFIRMED: anon 17 OCT 97
As you enter, on the left, there are some tall plants with circular flowers. Among the flowers is a Hidden Mickey. You can only see it for a brief time before your angle changes and it disappears.

Many people say there are hidden Mickeys in the flowers of Wizard of Oz during the Great Movie ride, but the guide, who showed me hidden Mickeys along the way, said they were done by bored workers who got to work early. He said they shouldn't be called hidden Mickey's because they always change.
    WISHFUL THINKING: John F. 13 AUG 01
There really is a flower in the shape of a Mickey
    CONFIRMED: Maria 30 AUG 01
On the Great Movie Ride, there is definitely a Mickey made out of the flowers in the Oz part. I was all the way in the back and still saw it. But you can only see it from the right angle and only for a split second.

  35. Wizard of Oz Room: Top of the wall where the cars face the door. A Mickey head is split between two trees. His ears are in one, and his nose is in the other.)
REPORTED: Christopher De Voss 18 JAN 97
As you go into the Wizard of Oz scene and the car stops look straight ahead and all the way up on the entrance to the next scene, which is Dorothy and friends at the emerald city. On this entrance way the trees in the center at the very top are shaped like Mickey's Head ears left, nose right.

  37. On our last day this year we were on the Great Movie Ride and I found a hidden Mickey. It was during the Wizard of Oz scence. It is a cloud in the shape of a Mickey. It is tricky to see but after a 2 time around my friends and I who are very strict about not just calling any 3 cirlces a Mickey agreed it was one. The location of the cloud Mickey is at the very begining of the Oz scene on the left. It is right at the top and quite obvious if you turn around in your seat.
REPORTED: Patrick Sullivav 09 APR 01
In fact, there is no hidden Mickey at the end of the OZ scene in The Great Movie Ride, if you look very closely it is Bambi. I know its hard to believe, ad it doesnt quite look the way it used to originally, but while I was a cast member it was shown to me by a very experienced cast member. The hidden Mickey is actually in the clouds.
CONFIRMED: Amanda Marciano 23 FEB 02
