OITC uses the Eudora Internet Mail Server

OITC has transitioned to using Simple Text Filter.

These filters were evolved by OITC from earlier earlier filters available from Glenn Anderson and Christian Mønsted Web Sites. These modified versions extend the virus and SPAM handling capabilities of EIMS. More EIMS filters can be found at those site.

 

From a virus stand point, the filters below protect against both the English language and other language versions of the same virus.

The filter below extends SPAM/UCE filtering to cover about 3% of SPAM/UCE which contains similar subject formats.

EIMS SPAM/UCE Subject Filters

Period Patrol Filter This filter will bounce any message that contains more than 8
consecutive periods in the message subject.		  

 


SPAM Originating Filters

These Filters are for EIMS 3.0 and above

ORDB Filter Filters Email using ordb.org
DK based ORDB protects against identified relays.		 Uses DNS Filter Exclusions
  ipwhois.rfc-ignorant.org Filter Blocks Email from sites that do not have
  a valid postmaster/abuse/contact address
Uses rfc-ignorant.org		 Uses DNS Filter Exclusions

 

During your efforts to thwart SPAM, you may run into sites that either do not support a postmaster or an abuse account. Please consider reporting them to rfc-ignorant.org.
